8 Things to Remember!

Tonight I was sitting thinking about something to blog about and then I thought... You know what there are eight things I think that every teenage girl needs to know.
I am learning each of these things constantly, it isn't a one time thing and then you got it down... No it will take time, so don't worry.

  1. You are valuable- Honestly, through out all my teen years, I felt that I needed a guy to make me satified in who I am as a person. I thought: if I only had a boyfriend, then I would be happy and be content. Let me tell you what, I definetely learned this the hard way. When I started high school I was constantly flirting with guys, trying to get their attention, etc. I basically would have done anything to have a boyfriend... I went behind my parents backs so many times and would end up in trouble, but I didn't care. I wanted to be happy and "satisfied". But let me tell you what, having a guy in your life will definetely not satisfy you. There were times I got a guys attention and he cared for me... But I was still not happy.
But the truth is: You are valuable! You can find your satisfaction in God. Because He is the only one that will satisfy you... No guy, no relationships, nothing can fill that whole, except Christ.
  2. Modesty- Now modesty is a huge thing. You may not think so... But the way you dress, is the type of guy you are going to attract. If you are going to dress immodestly, you are going to catch a guy that wants you for more of your body image.
But a woman who dresses modestly is going to attract a someone who is godly.
We need to dress modestly so that we are helping our brothers in Christ to not stumble as well.
  3. Parents advice- There have been many times in my life where I felt my parents didn't understand my situation... Any maybe that is true. Maybe they don't exactly understand a situation you face... But let me tell you, if you grow up in a Christian home I am sure your parents do have godly advice. Honestly, there have been so many times when I don't feel like my parents know what they are talking about... But then in the end, I realize and learn that the whole time my parents were right.
God has placed our parents in our lives for a reason, so we need to honor and obey them if they are scriptually right.
  4. Trials/Hardships: No matter how much pain/hurt/problems you are going through right now... Cling to the cross! Cling to His Word! Don't lose hope! Trust Him!
There have been so many time in my life where I feel like I can't move forward whether it's with: school, relationships, drama, being bullied, feeling insecure, health problems, etc... You can't give up! God has you here for a reason. Even when things are painful we need to continue to push through the trial and know that God has a reason for it... God NEVER leaves things unfinished, He will complete the work He started.
So have faith and trust Him through this time.
  5. People-Pleasing- Okay, I am still defintely learning this one. We cannot be a people pleaser though girls. Honestly, we need to look at it this way... It doesn't matter what people think, it only matters what God thinks. I know it is WAY easier said then done, but it is definetly true.
I will talk a ton more about this one seperetly sometime, because this is definetely a big topic.
  6. Defining yourself- Girls your popularity, your weight, your beauty on the outside, etc... Doesn't define who you are. You can't let that define you... If you do, you will never be happy with yourself. Define yourself the way Christ defines you. God defines you as who you are in Christ... You are precious in His sight. You are priceless! You are Chosen by God! Don't let these other lies define you.
  7. Be yourself- Don't try and be like everyone else... Be you! You are unique! Simply be yourself, because everyone else is taken! Line yourself up to God's standards and no one elses.
  8. Remember- Girls, REMEMBER God has an amazing plan for your life. Remember all of the above things! God is good and has great things in store. Life may not always be amazing, sometimes it takes a storm to make things beautiful! Trust Him and lay your burdens down at the feet of our King!
